As a specialist Bridging Academy aimed at addressing unique challenges at the intersection of law, governance, commerce, politics and all manner of matters institutional integrity and accountability, LAGASA benefits from a top-notch Advisory Board.
This distinguished group of individuals includes judges, attorneys, advocates, legal scholars, and representatives from NGOs and the public sector, bringing together local, regional, and international expertise in diverse, but intersecting disciplines.
LAGASA’s stellar Advisory Board members possess both the moral authority and the specialist knowledge required to help guide and support LAGASA to attain its Mission, through strategic institutional direction and support for Kohn in ensuring LAGASA’s ‘impactful impact’.
The Board’s composition is also reflective of LAGASA’s fundamental belief in furthering excellence through diversity of insights, collaboration, silo-shattering and bridge-building.
This Advisory Board is testament to LAGASA’s significance and legitimacy as a hybrid scholarly and practical state-societal intervention to Bridge all manner of Divides.
These ‘divides’ (or gaps) which require LAGASA’s bridging interventions include the likes of those between:
- school- and tertiary-level education;
- tertiary study and the world of practice;
- different fields of tertiary-level study (and/or professional work) within disciplines;
- different fields of tertiary-level study (and/or professional work) across different disciplines – such as law and commerce, or politics and economics; and
- the expertise required at different vocational levels as individuals progress up professional ladders or move laterally into new terrain when the time comes for such professional advancement.
