LAGASA in the Media

The NPA’s Civil Society Engagement Event (June 2025)

In tracking the work of the NPA, particularly since the finalisation of the Zondo Report, LAGASA has been particularly interested in the work of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (the ‘IDAC’), now a permanent legislatively established specialised unit within the NPA.

On xxx in Pretoria, Kohn (for LAGASA) along with other key public-interest stakeholders including representatives from the Helen Suzman Foundation, CASAC and so fourth, gave input at an important NPA ‘Roundtable’ Event.

Smart Procurement World Conference (May 2025)

At the end of May 2025, LAGASA was represented at the epic Smart Procurement World (‘SPW’) Conference (WC) 2025: ‘Blueprint to Impact: Creating a Legacy of Growth’. The event brought together saw hundreds of people – from the public, private, NGO and other sectors – committed to furthering public procurement that makes a positive state-societal impact.

Kohn moderated the Conference’s Opening Panel Discussion on Public Private Collaboration and then went on to conclude day 1 with a powerful Closing Keynote, which saw her voted as a Conference Best Speaker at the Closing Awards Ceremony.

Last year, Kohn was recognised for her continued contributions to positive procurement reform as one of SPW’s’ Women Leading in Public Procurement in SA’.

Dutch Anti-Corruption Envoy (April 2025)

April was a busy month for LAGASA. It kicked off with Adv Kohn dialling in (from Vienna) for a Roundtable hosted by the Dutch Embassy. The Dutch Anti-Corruption Envoy engaged in meaningful discussions with representatives from the Public Service Commission and key stakeholders from public-interest organisations, including LAGASA.

Kohn has been in on-going discussions with the Dutch about designing a specialised LAGASA Programme for the PSC, which body Kohn’s doctoral work reveals to be a key institution that, properly appreciated, is part of SA’s Integrity and Accountability Fourth Branch of State.

April 2025 also saw Kohn inspiring the next generation of young future leaders of SA. She was honoured to be invited, as founder and director of LAGASA, to present a seminar-style keynote presentation for Future Elect’s young fellows’ programme, supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.
